Fireball Quality 2012 Winner Is Nobby Snip – Rosehill Race 3

Nobby Snip

Nobby Snip wins the Fireball Quality at Rosehill Gardens

Nobby Snip has won the Listed Fireball Quality at Rosehill Racecourse today March 3, 2012.

The three-year-old gelding looked like he wasn’t going to get there in the final stages of the race, however, was able to snare the win away from Didntcostalot near the line.

Velrosso passed the post in third position, while Altar finished in fourth.

It was Nobby Snip’s first attempt on a heavy track, which proved no problem for the Snippetson gelding.

Nobby Snip was the $1.85 favourite to win the 2012 Fireball Quality at after his impressive six and a half length win at Canterbury last start.

It has been an inspiring come back performance this autumn after failing to perform at his only spring carnival start last year.

Nobby Snip finished fifth in an eight horse field in the Listed Heritage Stakes last September behind Karuta Queen after acting up in the parade ring.

He was then sent out to the spelling paddock for almost four months before beginning his autumn campaign as a much more mature horse.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained gelding has now won four of his six race starts and has earned more than $135,000 in prize money.

Nobby Snip was ridden by jockey Tommy Berry in today’s 2012 Fireball Quality.
