The early market suggests this Saturday’s 2012 PFD Food Services Stakes at Flemington is set to be an exciting race.
Luxbet have released their odds for the 1400 metre Group 3 event and at this stage it is hard to split the top three runners.
Fresh off a runner-up-effort in the Mannerism Stakes, I’m Discreet will start as favourite with Luxbet offering odds of $5.00 for her to win the race more commonly known as the Frances Tressady Stakes.
The Russell Cameron trained five-year-old has seven wins from 26 starts but will face stiff competition from the likes of Golden Penny and Booklet.
Golden Penny is in tremendous form and follows I’m Discreet closely in the betting. The five-year-old mare is currently paying $5.50 on luxbet.
The Richard Jolly trained horse will be looking to make it four wins in a row in the $125,000 race this Saturday, having had a magic run of late.
Booklet is also listed to be among the front runners and will start even in the betting with Golden Penny at $5.50.
Fresh from a spell, the four-year-old mare has not run since October last year but has three wins from 20 starts to her name.
Behind the three favourites are Biancon Rose ($7.50), Marveen ($9.00), Rasberries ($10.00) and Fashion ($11.00).
Marveen has won six of her 24 starts, winning over $570,000 in prize money.
Following a spell, the Darren Weir trained six-year-old finished third in her last run in the Bayside Jeep Hareeba Stakes in Morningside on February 15.
Running from the inside gate, Fashion is coming off a fifth-placed-effort last start in the Mannerism Stakes.
Other horses in the 2012 PFD Food Services Stakes include And Rock ($12.00), Rahveel ($13.00) and Sheilas Star ($16.00).
