Rain Affair Steals 2012 Apollo Stakes Betting Show

Rain Affair is the short priced favourite to win the Group 2 Apollo Stakes at Rosehill Racecourse this Saturday February 25, 2012.

The four-year-old has won nine of his ten race start, including the Group 2 Expressway Stakes at Rosehill on February 11.

Rain Affair has earned more than $450,000 in prize money and is trained at Warwick Farm by Joseph Pride.

Shoot Out is the only other horse paying single figure odds to win the 2012 Apollo Stakes, and currently sits at $8.50 at Luxbet.

The five-year-old finished third in the Expressway Stakes behind Shoot Out last start and is looking to get his revenge in this Saturday’s Apollo Stakes.

Jockey Hugh Bowman will be aboard Shoot Out in the 2012 Apollo Stakes and is realistic about his chances against the talented Rain Affair.

“I don’t know if he’ll beat Rain Affair. He’s in good form and is a six and seven furlong horse, whereas my horse is a mile to 2000-metre horse,” Bowman said.

“My horse should show natural improvement.

Shoot Out

Shoot Out is second favourite in the 2012 Apollo Stakes betting.

“It was a great run first-up and we want to see him improve again and hopefully he does win.

“But the way Rain Affair went (in the Expressway) he’s going to be hard to beat over the seven furlongs.”

Shoot Out has won seven of his 25 race starts and has earned more than $1.9 million in prize money.
