2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes Betting Favourite Is Soft Sand

Soft Sand is favourite to win the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakesat Caulfield racecourse this Saturday February 25, 2012.

Soft Sand

Soft Sand is favourite to win the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield this weekend.

The classy filly is paying odds of $2.50 to win the race at Luxbet and keep her impressive record intact.

Soft Sand will go into Saturday’s Angus Armanasco Stakes having won three of her four race starts and having earned close to $120,000 in prize money.

The Dansili filly won her most recent start in the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes at Caulfield by an impressive three lengths.

Anabandana is presently second favourite to win the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Luxbet, paying odds of $4.20.

The Anabaa filly finished second behind Soft Sand last start in the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes.

Anabandana has won five of her ten race starts and has earned close to $500,000 in prize money.

The three-year-old filly is having her first Australian campaign after having her first nine race starts in New Zealand, where she won the Group 1 Auckland Diamond Stakes and Group 1 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes.

Shopaholic, who upset Mosheen in The Vanity last start, is on the third line of betting at Luxbet, paying $7.50.

Chris Waller has travelled Nocturnelle to Melbourne from his Sydney stables to run in the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes, and the filly is paying odds of $9 to win the race at Luxbet.

Waller plans to soon open up a base in Melbourne to allow for his horses to run more often at Caulfield or Flemington.

“At some stage we will (open a Melbourne stable), it has been a thought all along, it is just a matter of timing,” Waller said.

“We would like to have a few boxes in Melbourne but it would very much be a base rather than a training establishment. But we are going to try and take more horses to Melbourne.

“The stable has a lot of horses and we need to get them through a bit quicker so when the right races come up, we will send them interstate.”
