Shopaholic Heads Quality Angus Armanasco Stakes Final Field

Shopaholic will back up in the Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield this Saturday February 25, 2012, after winning the Vanity Stakes last weekend.

The three-year-old filly is amongst the final field and barrier draw for the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes.

Shopaholic (centre) will back up in this Saturday's 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield.

Shopaholic won her last start by a nose ahead of Mosheen, who was the short priced favourite to win the race at Luxbet.

The Pins filly has now won four of her nine race starts and remains unbeaten after two starts this preparation.

Trainer Danny O’Brien was over the moon with Shopaholic’s shock win last Saturday.

She is a very nice filly, lightly raced, improving and her win today was very strong,” O’Brien said after the race.

“Mosheen was obviously the testing material in the spring, her and Atlantic Jewel, but our filly is catching up to them now and she is doing a very good job.

Shopaholic has drawn barrier four for the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Glen Boss.

Soft Sand is also included in the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes final field and barrier draw.

The Dansili filly has won three of her four race starts and has earned close to $120,000 in prize money.

The three-year-old won the Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes by three lengths last start and will be stepping up to Group level for the first time in the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes.

Soft Sand has drawn barrier 11 for the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Damien Oliver.

Bliss Street, Nocturnelle and Anabandana are also included in the 2012 Angus Armanasco Stakes final field and barrier draw.
