Ballot Order & Betting – Blue Diamond Stakes 2012

The 2012 Blue Diamond Stakes nominations still feature 64 names but with the race now less than a week away the ballot order shows just where the top contenders sit.

The Blue Diamond Stakes is the premiere two year old race held at Caulfield each year and with $600,000 on offer for the winning runner there’s always a huge amount of interest.

Pre-post betting has been well underway at Luxbet for a while now with the top horses continuing to firm. [bluediamondstakesodds]

There’s also been a couple of big movers up the punters pecking order and more money is rolling in this week as a higher level of certainty grows around the field.

As it stands the Blue Diamond Stakes is all about Samaready in 2012.

Not only is she atop the order of entry for the race, she’s a clear cut leader in the betting market as well.

Samaready currently sits on a quote of just $2.10 with that price expected to drop further after the final field announcement.

The closest competitor to her is No Looking Back, the Gai Waterhouse gallopers that was first across the line in the Magic Millions but was relegated to second after losing on protest.

No Looking Back is 18th on the order of entry, high enough to ensure she’ll start given a few above her won’t be accepted for.

She’s paying $7.50 on the Luxbet fixed price markets and once again that will drop following acceptances.

Further back we have Jimando as the only other horse in single figures, $9.00 the current quote and 8th on the order of entry.

The Travelling Man isn’t far behind on $10 and in ballot three but then it’s a decent gap back to Mama’s Choice at $15 and ballot 13.

The big mover of course is All Too Hard after his win at Flemington last weekend, you can get $17 about the half brother of Black Caviar.

He’s also equal 14th on the order of entry so there’s plenty to like about him at good odds.
