2012 Australian Guineas Odds Still Favour Helmet & Mosheen

Helmet has retained his clear favouritism in the 2012 Australian Guineas despite his first up flop on Saturday.

Helmet enjoyed the run of the race in fourth spot on the fence but couldn’t accelerate when asked to finish well off the pace and cost punters plenty who had backed him into as short as $1.40.

Incredibly it all happened a matter of minutes after a similarly priced Mosheen also failed to win for her backers.

She laboured to the lead with 200m to go but was caught on the line to only manage second behind Shopaholic.

Mosheen was also prominent in Australian Guineas betting prior to the race and she too has retained her short odds.

It’s a sign of forgiveness from punters that the duo can regain their form by the time the Group 1 rolls around but their odds have drifted a touch as shown by online bookmaker Luxbet.

Helmet is now at $2.70 to win the title with Mosheen back on $6.00.

The big mover of course is That’s The One after he breezed past not only Helmet but the entire field in yet another display of his incredible acceleration from the back of the field.

Instinction is in fourth spot on $9.00 after dead heating for third in the same event.

Surprisingly, Decircles is behind him on $11 despite crossing the line in second over a length ahead of him on Saturday.

The second horse in the dead heat for third was Highly recommended and he’s 6th in Australian Guineas Betting at $13.
