Sea Siren Wins 2012 Light Fingers Stakes – Race 7 Results

Sea Siren has bested Streama by winning the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes at Warwick Farm racecourse today February 18, 2012.

The Fastnet Rock filly won the race ahead of Streama, who finished second, and Hallowell Belle, who rounded out the placings in third.

Sea Siren (outside) wins the 2012 Light Fingers Stakes at Warwick Farm Racecourse.

Sea Siren won her last start in the Vinery Stud Handicap at Canterbury on January 4 this year and had to step up a long way in grade for today’s 2012 Light Fingers Stakes run.

Trainer John O’Shea was not at Warwick Farm to see Sea Siren win the Light Fingers Stakes 2012, however, stable representative Bryce Heys was at the track.

“Outstanding, she was dynamite on Tuesday this filly,” Heys said of Sea Siren’s trackwork earlier this week.

“She’s a filly of a lot of quality and ability.

“She had residual fitness coming into today.

“(It was a) massive step in grade… but her work… predicted that she was warranted running in this race today.”

Jimmy Cassidy was visibly overjoyed at Sea Siren’s 2012 Light Fingers Stakes win.

“We knew we could run top three today,” Cassidy said.

“I’m so wrapped, it means a lot to me.

“It’s a team effort. (She’s a) good filly, very good filly.

“I thought she was up to them, she worked outstanding at Randwick on Tuesday.”

Sea Siren was paying odds of $14 to win the 2012 Light Fingers Stakes at Luxbet.
