Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Black Caviar’s next race is now uncertain after she was forced to dig deep to win the 2012 Lightning Stakes at Flemington racecourse today.
The super mare was set to run in the 2012 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield next Saturday, however trainer Peter Moody made it clear she would most probably not make it to the race.
“I could pretty much that she won’t be there next week,” Moody said.
“For her to be there next Saturday she probably would have had to have it softer today.”
Black Caviar’s next race may now be the $2 million Golden Shaheen, which will take place in Dubai as part of the Dubai World Cup Carnival.
“If she goes to Dubai she’s probably run her last race in Australia this prep,” Moody said.
“If she doesn’t get to Dubai we’ll look into what leads her into Ascot.”
At Ascot Black Caviar is being targeted towards the Diamond Jubilee at Ascot on June 23, 2012, before tackling the July Cup at Newmarket on July 14, 2012.
Wherever he next race may be, Black Caviar will be looking to claim her 20th unbeaten career start.
