An impressive collection of stakes performing fillies have been accepted for the Light Fingers Stakes 2012 field at Warwick Farm this Saturday, the headline hopeful being Neville Laty’s Canberra stunner Karuta Queen.

Pane In The Glass has drawn the extreme outside barrier for her first-up run in the 2012 Light Fingers Stakes
The daughter of Not A Single Doubt, out to atone for her unlucky fourth as the beaten favourite first-up in the Group 3 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield last Saturday, has suffered another early season blow drawing wide with barrier 12 in the 16-starter, two-emergency field for the $1750,000 Group 2 Patinack Farm Light Fingers Stakes (1200m).
The 2012 Light Fingers Stakes could shape up as a much more open affair for the Luxbet punters than first thought with a number of the other top fancies also drawing awkwardly with double-digit gates.
Race sponsor, Patinack Farm, have accepted for two of their exciting fillies, both of the John Thompson-trained three-year-olds faring poorly in the Light Fingers Stakes barrier draw.
Resuming Group 1 placegetter Pane In The Glass is in the extreme outside gate 18 (into 16 with emergencies out) while stablemate Kneeling only drew one inside with 17.
Other top-liners with wide gates to overcome on Saturday include the Guy Walter-trained Streama (barrier 11) winner of the Group 2 Furious Stakes – Group 3 Tea Rose Stakes – Group 1 Flight Stakes triple in the spring, David Payne’s last-start Canterbury winner Al’s Magic Miss (barrier 13) and John O’Shea’s lightly-raced but very promising Fastnet Rock filly Sea Siren (barrier 10).
One of the big winners, on the other hand, was Gai Waterhouse’s returned Blue Diamond Stakes runner-up Hallowell Belle with barrier four and Corey Brown engaged, the former Peter Moody-trained Starcraft filly last seen running fourth to Atlantic Jewel in the Thousand Guineas.
Gerald Ryan’s filly Schiffer also looks well positioned for Saturday’s showdown in barrier two with apprentice hoop Josh Adams engaged, the daughter of Snitzel last seen wining the Magic Millions Sprint on the Gold Coast in mid-January.
