Pied A Terre Wins Autumn Stakes 2012 – Race 5 Results

Pied A Terre has won the Group 2 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse today February 11, 2012.

The Ad Valorem gelding won the race by a length ahead of second place runner Proliferate and third place-getter Adamantium.

Pied A Terre has now on an unbelievable four of his five race starts and earned more than $270,000 in prize money.

Trainer Peter Snowden believes Pied A Terre is a horse with a big future.

“He’s a pretty talented horse, his form proves that,” Snowden said.

“I think the key to this horse is just fresh, he’s not a horse that trains on.

“Having a month between runs is definitely the way to go.”

Snowden said Pied A Terre will now go to Sydney, where he will bypass both the Randwick and Rosehill Guineas.

“He won’t be going to the Guineas but either way he’ll be going to Sydney,” he said.

Jockey Mark Zahra rode Pied A Terre to his fourth career win.

“They had him fresh… and he really pinged there and travelled early,” Zahra said.

“He hasn’t put them away, he’s more of a grinder now.”

This was the fourth time from five starts Pied A Terre has faced his own age group, however, he was not disgraced when finishing second to At The Heads in the Listed Manifold Stakes last start.
