Dual Saturday acceptor Unanimously will bypass a clash with the resuming Karuta Queen at Warwick Farm and take on another short-priced favourite in Bel Sprinter at Caulfield this Saturday for the 2012 WJ Adams Stakes.

Canberra trainer Matthew Dale paid up for his smart Not A Single doubt four-year-old in both Warwick Farm Race 3 this Saturday as well as for the $100,000 Listed United Arab Emirates Stakes (1000m) – formerly the WJ Adams Stakes – at Caulfield on Saturday.

With torrential rain in Sydney threatening the abandonment of the Warwick Farm meet, and with the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival riches calling, Dale has made the decision to head to Victoria.

Last seen running away to beat a quality field in the Listed Canterbury BMW Classic (1100m) on January 13, Unanimously has drawn barrier four of 10 for their Caulfield assignment on Saturday and will be ridden by Melbourne Cup winning jockey Blake Shinn.

“It was probably his career best performance and it was aided by a hot speed which it appears he will get at Caulfield on Saturday,” Dale said of the Canterbury Classic victory.

Markets for the black-type clash are firmly led by Jason Warren’s crack sprinter Bel Sprinter who pays $2.20 through Luxbet to secure their fifth career win from just six starts.

Second elect in the markets is then Peter Moody’s stakes winning Exceed And Excel mare Kulgrinda at a quote of $4.80.

Unanimously occupies the third line of WJ Adams Stakes betting through Luxbet at $9, a price that could firm following the confirmation that they will run.

“We wanted to give him a go around the bend in Melbourne to assess how well he goes, and then we’ll know our options going forward,” Dale said of Unanimously who has raced exclusively in Sydney over their 19-start career to date.

“We just thought if we go to Sydney we’ll be taking on Kakruta Queen.

Dale, however, is still very aware of the class competitors his horse faces in the Caulfield race and named Bel Sprinter as the obvious one to beat.

“It’s still a very strong race in Melbourne though and we’re happy to see how he goes there,” he said.

“Obviously Bel Sprinter is a very good horse.

“He’s an up-and-coming horse with good credentials.

“We haven’t quite assess the form fully and come up with a plan just yet, but he did enjoy getting a drop just off the speed last start and would appear to get the same opportunity from barrier four to do that again.

“The horse is never far away.

“He puts himself in the race and tries his heart out so we would be expecting a good solid run.

“Probably in the top four would be great.

“He hasn’t missed a beat, he’s done well in between races and looks really fit now so I’m really looking forward to Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Mornington-based trainer Warren will use Saturday’s race as a guide to where Bel Sprinter heads this autumn with the $350,000 Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on Blue Diamond Stakes Day, February 25, a genuine goal should they progress as expected.

“Obviously he’s got to live up to expectations on Saturday, and if he does we will go to the Oakleigh Plate and, depending on that, then the Newmarket would be an option,” he said.

The $1 million Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) runs at Flemington on March 10 and in the ante-post Newmarket odds at Luxbet Bel Sprinter rated an $11 chance to win.
