Not A Single Doubt Karuta Queen is the Horse to Beat & Back

Neville Layt’s Not A Single Doubt filly Karuta Queen will kick off what her Queanbeayn trainer hopes will be an awesome autumn carnival for his stable ace at Warwick Farm this Saturday, the top three-year-old opening odds-on favourite for her resuming run.

Karuta Queen is odds-on favourite for her first-up run at Warwick Farm on Saturday

Karuta Queen has given Layt and her connections the ride of a lifetime, the $30,000 Magic Millions purchase having already amassed over $1.7 million in prize money from her supercharged 12-start career to date.

Her most lucrative victory so far came in last year’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast and she was last seen finishing second to boom colt African Pulse in a 1000m Flemington sprint on Melbourne Cup Day.

Saturday sees Kartua Queen race first-up in Warwick Farm Race 3 – the $70,000 Handicap (1000m) at 2:10pm (NSW time).

“She’s going terrific,” Layt said.

“She had a barrier trial at Canberra three weeks ago and she went really good.”

While Layt indicated he would like to see her get in with 56kg or less, the rank filly has received 56.5kg from the handicappers with gun jockey Tommy Berry to ride her from barrier three in the six-horse field.

Her weight hasn’t deterred the bookies or punters however with Kartua Queen the dominant $1.70 favourite in the Warwick Farm betting markets at Luxbet.

Now is definitely the time to back Karuta Queen to win on Saturday through Luxbet, as her biggest danger is set to be withdrawn.

The Matthew Dale-trained Unanimously is currently the $4 second elect for the clash through Luxbet, but connections have indicated that they will take the dual Saturday acceptor to Melbourne for a Listed race at Caulfield instead.

With Unanimously out, the only other single-figure chance in Karuta Queen’s race is the Joe Pride-trained Choisir mare La Remlap currently at a quote of $6.50.

Punters can get double-figure odds on the rest of the field with Gary Portelli’s Octagonal six-year-old Eight Bills and last-start winner at the track Social Rank paying $12 each to win, and Phenomenal Lass the $16 outsider.

Check out all the weekend’s racing markets now open at Luxbet and lock in your favourites at the guaranteed best prices in the country.
