Robert Smerdon’s Crown Oaks winning filly Mosheen has been nominated to resume racing this Saturday in the Manfred Stakes 2012 at Caulfield Racecourse.

Leviathan Japanese breeding operation Katsumi Yoshida just last week purchased a 50 percent share of the $1.5 million earning daughter of Fastnet Rock for a seven-figure sum, and they will already get a chance to score their first dividend when she races first-up on the weekend.
One of 19 nominations for the $100,000 Listed Manfred Stakes (1200m), Mosheen was last seen running away to a breathtaking nine length win in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington on November 3.
The Golden Slipper and Thousand Guineas runner-up has a tough autumn campaign ahead with her grand final goal likely to be the $600,000 Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on March 24.
Her other targets between now and then could include the $200,000 Group 3 The Vanity (1200m) at Flemington on February 18 and possibly the lucrative $570,000 Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) at the same track on March 3.
“I like the way she has come back,” jockey Danny Nikolic said after riding the champ in a track gallop last week.
“She seems stronger.”
Notable rivals for Mosheen among the Manfred Stakes entries include Robert Hickmott’s Victoria Derby failure Collar tipped to return to form coming back in distance, the Peter Moody-trained Highly Recommended last seen running a brave fourth in the Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) in November, Mick Price’s Caulfield Guineas sixth placegetter Secret Hills and Cranbourne galloper That’s The One.
