Sean Baile Mor will be looking to win at Moonee Valley this Friday in the lead up to the Group 2 Adelaide Cup on Monday March 12, 2012.
The four-year-old will be competing in the $100,000 Fillies and Mares Handicap this Friday night over 2,040 metres.
The Cape Cross mare will be looking to improve on her most recent result in the Jezebel Handicap at Flemington on January 14 where she finished a disappointing 11th of 12 runners.
Sean Baile Mor will target the 2012 Adelaide Cup after competing in the Listed Mornington Cup on February 15, 2012.
Trainer Todd Balfour feels the horse has a big chance going into both races.
“She deserves her chance in a race like the Mornington Cup over a bit of ground and, touch wood, something like the Adelaide Cup,” Balfour said.
Sean Baile Mor has won four of her 15 race starts and has earned close to $100,000 in prize money.
Five-year-old mare Western Jewel is also been targeted towards a 2012 Adelaide Cup campaign this autumn racing carnival.
Western Jewel won her last start in the Group 2 Perth Cup at Ascot on December 31, 2011, and is in the best form of her career.
The Jeune mare proved her ability as a stayer when winning the $424,000 Perth Cup.
Western Jewel has won eight of her 27 race starts and has earned close to $500,000 in prize money.
The 2012 Adelaide Cup will be run over a distance of 3,200 metres and will be worth $400,000 in prize money.
