Startsmeup Features In Sunshine Coast Cup 2012 Nominations

Startsmeup will aim to win his first race of the year when he lines up for the $100,000 Listed Sunshine Coast Cup at Sunshine Coast Racecourse this Friday January 27, 2012.

The four-year-old has been nominated for the race along with 18 other runners.

Startsmeup

Startsmeup is nominated for the 2012 Sunshine Coast Cup this Friday.

Startsmeup finished second in his last start in the $400,000 Magic Millions Cup, where he passed the post half a length behind Spirit Of Boom.

The Danzero  gelding will be having his fourth start this campaign and will be looking to post his first win since July last year.

Also included in the 2012 Sunshine Coast Cup nominations is Essington, who is having just his second start for new trainer Toby Edmonds.

Edmonds inherited Essington after original trainer Darryl Hansen was suspended from training due to presenting two horses to race with a prohibited substance in their systems.

Essington has won nine of his 21 race starts and has earned more than $260,000 in prize money during his impressive career.

Another well-known name included in the 2012 Sunshine Coast Cup nominations is the Andrew Williamson-trained Ready To Rip.

Ready To Rip finished eighth in the Magic Millions Cup last start after posting an impressive second in the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes the start prior.

The More Than Ready gelding has won five if his 16 race starts and has earned more than $225,000 in prize money.

Ready To Rip was purchased for $55,000 from the 2009 Magic Millions Yearling Sale and has won over distances ranging from 1,000 metres to 1,200 metres.

Hussonator, Onetimeatbandcamp and Steel Zip are also nominated for the 2012 Sunshine Coast Cup.
