The second richest race on the 2012 BMW Magic Millions Race Day program at the Gold Coast this Saturday is the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1200m) and the final field of acceptors for the feature has now been released.

As expected a capacity 16 starters plus five emergencies are engaged for the 2012 Magic Millions Guineas, the favourite of which is the David Pfieffer-trained Safusa.

Coming off back-to-back wins in Sydney Elusive Quality gelding Safusa secured their spot at the top of the Magic Millions Guineas odds with a smart two length win from barrier 12 of 12 in the Magic Millions Wyong 3YO Stakes (1200m) on December 22.

“Wyong was grand final day, really,” Pfieffer admitted.

“It was the race we set him for and thought he was capable of winning.

“The Gold Coast was always going to be a bonus but he came through the Wyong race well and he trialled great last week.

“It will be his fifth run of the preparation on Saturday and I think he is capable of winning it as well.”

In betting on the MM Guineas final field, Safusa pays $4 in the Luxbet markets.

Pfieffer is looking to continue his winning run at the Magic Millions Race Day having prepared 2012 Magic Millions Classic winner Graceful Anna and last year’s Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Plate victor Gai’s Choice.

“I have been training for five years and I think I would have picked about $1 million from Magic Millions’ races in total,” Pfieffer said.

“Not bad for a small trainer and it has really helped my career

“Graceful Anna won the Wyong race and the three-year-old on the Gold Coast.

“Gai’s Choice did the job up there last year.

“Safusa won the Wyong race, so is trying to match Graceful Anna this weekend.”

There are four other runners at single figure odds in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas field this year with:

• #14 Happy Hussy ($5 Luxbet) – Earned a late entry into the race after a gritty win at Rosehill over the 1400 metres on December 31, untried in Queensland but has class and distance is ideal
• #9 Subarc ($8 Luxbet) – Chris Waller’s Stratum gelding comes off a third to Cindarockinrella at Rosehill’s New Year’s Eve meeting, has seen the 1400 metres twice but is yet to win over it
• #12 Punch On ($8 Luxbet) – Peter Balzen-trained Gold Coast local deserves to be near the top of the betting after a final-stride victory in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at Doomben on December 31 from a horror draw, has had one run at the Gold Coast when third as a 2YO over 1200 metres last March on a Heavy (10) track
• #20e Angel Of Mercy ($8 Luxbet) – Missed out on a spot in the starting line-up, but despite being the third emergency the bookies are taking no chances on Gerald Ryan’s Hussonet filly who ran second in the Wyong MM Stakes before her emphatic 3.5 length win at Warwick Farm a week ago

Other noteworthy Magic Millions 2012 Guineas acceptors include Noel Doyle’s stakes winning gelding Biggles, the Desleigh Forster-trained Easy Running, and Liam Birchely’s Show A Prince who ran the trifecta in the Listed Gold Edition Plate (1200m) t Eagle Farm on December 17.
