The key support race on the Villiers Stakes Day program this Saturday at Warwick Farm is the 2011 Razor Sharp Handicap, the final field and barriers for which have now been released.

Catapulted is the topweight of the 2011 Razor Sharp Handicap field at Warwick Farm on Saturday
After attracting 12 nominations, nine horses have been accepted for the $100,000 Listed McGrath Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m), the event scheduled to run as Warwick Farm Race 5 at 3:45pm (NSW time).
The top-rated and weighted of the Razor Sharp runners is the Mark Kavanagh-trained Catapulted who has come up with the far outside barrier nine and who is set to carry 59kg with Glyn Schofield aboard for the first time.
A triple Group winning Catbird gelding, six-year-old Catapulted was last seen finishing a quarter length away second to Canali in the Victoria Cup (1100m) at Caulfield on December 3 when carrying 60kg with Michael Rodd in the mount.
Following Catapulted in the Razor Sharp Handicap weights are then the Joe Pride-trained News Alert and Peter Snowden’s brilliant galloper Rarefied both on 57.5kg.
News Alert is one of three final acceptors for Pride, the seven-year-old racing second-up for the season following a credible fifth to Group 1 winner Atomic Force at Canterbury on November 26 and has drawn favourably in barrier two.
Pride’s other hopefuls are last-start Rosehill winning Rubiton mare Recorrido and Lion Heart mare Trilione making her black-type debut, both drawing well in gates four and one respectively.
Meanwhile the Darley-owned Commands gelding Rarefied will jump from barrier six with Nash Rawiller aboard, the last-start Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes runner-up looking to finally break their run of second place finishes with a stakes win for connections.
Rarefied has finished in the top three in 12 of their 15 starts to date but haven’t won a race since the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1200m) at Randwick back in August of 2009.
Other notable horses in the Razor Sharp Handicap field this year include Clinton McDonald’s consistent Mossman five-year-old Second Effort seeking their seventh career win from 15 starts and the Paul Perry-trained four-year-old Stratana, a winner of five of their 9 starts to date.
