A full field of sprinters have been accepted for the Doomben Summer Series opener in Brisbane this Saturday, the George Moore Stakes 2011attracting 16 starters plus one emergency.

Startsmeup will debut for new trainer Gillian Heinrich in the George Moore Stakes on Saturday
Programmed as Doomben Race 7 and due to jump at 4:15pm (local time) on Saturday, the $200,000 Group 3 Channel Seven George Moore Stakes (1200m) presents Luxbet punters with one of the hottest summer season betting opportunities.
With the decision of trainer Peter Snowden not to accept for his Winterbottom Stakes runner-up Rarefied, the Darryl Hansen-trained Essington will jump the 57.5kg topweight of the George Moore Stakes on Saturday.
A five-year-old son of boom Aussie sire Redoute’s Choice, Essington resumed racing on November 26 with a close first-up third behind Listen Son and Excellantes in the Listed Keith Noud Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm.
Essington has a brilliant second-up record having won three of his four second-up starts, a stat that will likely see them open at the top end of the George Moore Stakes odds when markets are released at Luxbet.
Keith Noud Quality winner Listen Son is also set to back up in the George Moore, the Tony Gollan-trained Toowoomba visitor the second heaviest-weighted hopeful with 57kg, drawn one outside of Essington in barrier nine.
Gollan will also be represented in the George Moore Stakes field this year by Spirit Of Boom who has drawn double digits in gate 11, the Sequalo four-year-old looking to improve on their ninth in the Keith Noud.
Excellantes, second in the Keith Noud, has gained an early advantage coming up with barrier six for Saturday, Robert Heathcote’s Falvelon four-year-old having only finished out of the top three in one of their 13 career starts to date when 12th to Military Rose in the Gold Coast Guineas back in May.
One of the big losers in the George Moore barrier draw was Startsmeup in gate 16, the Danzero gelding to have their first start for new trainer Gillian Heinrich.
Last seen running second to Thankgodyou’rehere in the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill on September 17, which was the four-year-olds’ sixth stakes placing, Startsmeup was previously prepared by fellow Gold Coast-based trainer Bruce Hill.
While obviously disappointed to lose his stable ace Startsmeup to another trainer, Hill said it was all part of the business.
“He was my best horse but I’ll find another,” he said.
“I trained him from the very first day of his career but I won’t lose any sleep because he’s gone.”
Other notable runners in the race include the David Payne-trained Latin News out wide in 14 coming off a devastatingly close second to Atomic Force at Canterbury, the Kelso Wood-trained Belltone to be ridden by the in-form Chris Munce from barrier five, last-start Eagle Farm winner Adebisi in four and Barry Baldwin’s exciting galloper Havatryst on the rails as they shoot for their third win on the trot.
