Latest 2011 WA Guineas Odds & Markets

News - Betting - Race Previews - Summer Racing
18 November 2011

The $350,000 Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) kicks off Group racing at Ascot’s Railway Stakes Day this Saturday and below the Races.com.au team take a look at the latest betting odds and markets on this quality three-year-olds’ feature.

Punters can catch the action of the 2011 WA Guineas at 3:05pm (Perth time) when it runs as Race 7 of 10 at Ascot, 13 horses remaining in contention after the early withdrawal of #12 Pattie Me Lass.

The WA Guineas betting market mover at Luxbet is also the pronounced favourite Ron’s Call.

Since markets opened the boom Magic Albert gelding, who vies for their fifth win on the trot, has been heavily backed in from $2.60 to $2.25.

With an 80% Win Rate and coming off an impressive four length victory over many of their WA Guineas rivals in the Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m), Ron’s Call is also the Races.com.au WA Guineas Tip to Win.

The money continues to pour in for them too, making now the time to get behind Simon Miller’s emerging star before they enter odds-on territory.

#1 Ron’s Call – Market Moves

  • Opening Odds: $2.60
  • First Fluc: $2.40
  • Second Fluc: $2.35
  • Current Price: $2.25 – and firming so back them now at Luxbet!

Miller is 100 percent confident heading into the WA Guineas with Ron’s Call and believes his youngster may have what it takes to progress onto the $500,000 Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot on December 3.

“He is very freakish at what he does but he is still an immature horse,” he said.

“In 12 months’ time he will be the complete package, he still has a little way to go mentally.

“Providing he runs well and comes through the Guineas, my aim will be for him to progress to the Kingston Town Classic.

“He will meet some good, tough horses in that race but he is a very good horse himself and will get about nine kilograms off the older horses.”

Only two other WA Guineas hopefuls have firmed in their price to claim an upset result through with:

  • #5 Shady Bet ($67 into $51 Luxbet) – Drawn ideally in barrier four, is the longest-priced of the three Neville Parnhman-trained stablemates in the race but the trainer has them tipped as a nice smokey at juicy odds and it seems the punters agree
  • #14 Caiguna ($41 into $31 Luxbet) – Another double-figure long-shot that has seen a tickle in the markets, another nice draw in gate three Fred Kerlsey’s filly was far from disgraced when a close fifth beaten less than two lengths in the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes (1600m) last Saturday over the Ascot mile, before which they broke their maiden over 1500 metres at the track

Meanwhile, WA Guineas odds have drifted out on many others in the field including second favourite King Saul ($3.40 out to $3.80 Luxbet) and the Races.com.au top Place Bet Red Hot Sax ($19 out to $21).

Below we have listed the latest 2011 WA Guineas fixed win odds punters can find and back right now at Luxbet.
