Craig and Nash not to ride in 2011 Melbourne Cup

Jockeys Nash Rawiller and Craig Williams won’t ride in tomorrow’s Melbourne Cup.

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal turned down both application for a stay of proceedings against a careless riding suspension.

Both jockeys were suspended last Wednesday at the Bendigo Cup meeting

A subsequent appeal to the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board of Victoria failed for the duo though Rawiller had his suspension reduced but not sufficiently for him to take the Melbourne Cup.

French jockey Christophe Lemaire will ride Dunaden while Nash’s brother Brad  will ride Unusual Suspect in the Melbourne Cup.

Both horses have drifted in betting with Luxbet with Dunaden out to $8.50 from and Unusual Suspect out to $41 from $35.

The team at Luxbet are rating Willaims highly taking Dunaden $6,500 @ $8.00 and still drifting the horse out.

Other good bets taken tonight include  Americain $15,000 @ $5.00, Niwot   $8,000 @ $13.00 and   Drunken Sailor $5,000 EW @ $41.00.
