The Chris Waller trained Comin’ Through claimed...
While Masthead has a win ratio that pales into insignificance against old foe Sepoy, one can never accuse him of not being consistent.
The furthest back the son of Written Tycoon has finished in nine starts is fourth which has happen on four occasions.
A cheque for every time you start is desired but so is a win in a decent race and the Anthony Freedman team hope the 2011 $502,000 Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) is that event.

Bookmakers can’t see the colt beating Sepoy, who is a $1.28 fav with Luxbet, but that horse has had a long campaign and if any horse is going to bowl him over it could very well be now.
Masthead is working very well, according to his trainer but might not be well suited by barrier one down the Flemington straight.
Last start, he lead, and was narrowly beaten by the impressive Galah, but Masthead can virtually settle anywhere and still run a decent race – like any horse drawn in one, he will need a bit of room when required.
Form student can see if the Galah form stands up when it races in the first at Flemington in the the Inglis Carbine Club Stakes.
Masthead himself, $18 with Luxbet in 2011 Coolmore Stud Stakes betting may be a tad over the odds.
While his only win came at Mornington, Masthead has placed in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes behind Sepoy and the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes behind Foxwedge.
He meets both again here.
Masthead has faced and been beaten by Sepoy on three occasions and met Foxwedge once.
He was narrowly beaten in the Roman Consul but the closest he has finished to Sepoy was two lengths away in the Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington in September.
That race has obvious similarities to this one, and on that occasion Masthead settled at the tail of the field and ran on strongly.
Masthead is definitely a horse that should go into 2011 Coolmore Stud Stakes multiples – but can he win the race?
The answer is probably no, but then again, if he did no one would be totally surprised or begrudge Mr Consistent.
