The stars are out to play in the 2011 Salinger Stakes nominations with a fantastic group of horses set to fight it out over 1200m this Saturday at Flemington Racecourse.
A real spectacle on Derby Day, the Salinger Stakes is a 1200m straight track sprint that has become an absolute crowd favourite.
Rated at Group 2 level and worth $300,000 it’s a hugely valuable race, especially for horses looking to graduate to group 1 company later in the carnival.
The Patinack Farm Classic could be an option for those running through the line hard here although it would be a huge ask given Black Caviar is lurking to strike in that event.
Before getting too far ahead though we need to find a winner in the Salinger Stakes and it’s going to come from somewhere in the list below.
All up there were 24 horses nominated for the race meaning we’re still in with a chance of reaching the limit of 20.
It’s probably unlikely that many will accept but we’ll just have to wait and see when the 2011 Salinger Stakes final field is released on Wednesday.
