Boilover In 2011 Trojan Hand Tools Stakes

Ocean Challenger

Ocean Challenger has caused a boilover to win the last at Moonee Valley

The final event on Cox Plate Day 2011 was the Trojan Hand Tools Stakes with the Darren Magro trained Ocean Challenger bouncing back to form in tremendous fashion.

She’s done very little in her past few events but this time she was simply too strong for her far more fancied rivals.

Ocean Challenger was in the perfect position right from the jump in the Trojan Hand Tools Stakes with her racing style suited to having a bit of space out a little wide

She held strong moving to the lead with 200m to go and powered on to be the first horse past the post at the end of a frantic mile journey.

Not many gave her a hope, in fact she paid a huge $51 with online bookmaker Luxbet.

Try telling that to the trainer though who said he was never over awed by his more fancied competition.

” I thought she could win, simple,” he said.

“We’ve had no luck with her, she needs to be ridden like that.”

It was the same story for jockey Dean Holland who actually only just picked up the ride after Lyon was injured earlier in the week.

“Massive thrill just to have the ride on the day, to have a winner is unbelievable,” he said.

If you were lucky enough to be on Ocean Challenger your payout on Luxbet is a massive $55.20

For the place getters you’ll earn $1.90 for Hi Belle and $1.80 for Lady Lynette with Raspberries completing the first four.

Now we’re in the heart of the spring carnival it’s the perfect time to create an account if you haven’t already with the Tabcorp owned bookie.

Use the code BONUSBET when you register and you’ll have your first deposit matched with a free bet worth up to $500!
