Smart Money Says Saptapadi Will Win Caulfield Cup 2011

His one run so far in Australia may have only resulted in an eighth placed finish but that hasn’t stopped the mountain of support for Saptapadi to win the $2.5 Million Caulfield Cup in Melbourne tomorrow.

In fact the European import is one of the best backed horses in the entire field with punters reading plenty into his last start run in the Herbert Power Stakes.

He jumped from the outside gate and went towards the tail of the field before being worked up around the outside approaching the bend.

He had to go around virtually the entire field to pick up a run but still managed to battle on gamely over the final furlong.

With an easier draw tomorrow and the chance to settle closer to the pace he’s rated as a knock out player and plenty continue to jump aboard.

His form at home was consistent in quality races including a fifth placed finish in the Ebor Handicap against a field of 20.

He stands as one of the worst results for online bookmaker Luxbet after opening at a massive $51 quote.

That was smashed and now the fixed price is worth less than half at $21 with the money still coming in.

Why Saptapadi Can Win the 2011 Caulfield Cup

  • Follow the money trail, smart coin rides on the back of this horse.
  • 2400m is no issue and he’ll run it out easily, his win came over this trip.
  • Drastically improved barrier will show us just what he can do.
  • Conditions of no concern.

Why Saptapadi Can’t Win The 2011 Caulfield Cup

  • Runs well but doesn’t win often, winning percentage starting to become a concern.
  • Only a seven day break between runs, Euro’s have shown in the past that can be a problem.

With the amount of money that’s flooded in for Saptapadi over the last 48 hours it’s hard not to consider him a major player in the 2011 Caulfield Cup.

After opening at $51 he’s now into just $21 with Luxbet and that could well continue to plummet even further.
