Dream Pedlar Ready To Post Caulfield Cup 2011 Win

The hopes of an entire state are resting on Tasmanian galloper Dream Pedlar as he prepares to tackle the $2.5 million Caulfield Cup 2011 in Melbourne tomorrow.

Dream Pedlar won his last start in the Group 3 JRA Plate and appears to be in the form of his life going into the race.

And it appears that the public know it.

“A few days ago he was 200-1 so he has come in a fair bit (currently paying $81 at Luxbet),” trainer Troy Blacker said.

Blacker believes that race favourite December Draw, who is paying odds of $2.40 to win the 2011 Caulfield Cup at Luxbet, is far from unbeatable in the race.

“Obviously they are talking up December Draw but we ran against December Draw two starts back and we only finished three lengths off him and we carried more weight than him and that was our first go at 2000m this time in,” Blacker said.

“We’ve improved a great deal since then because we’ve won the JRA Cup and this time the weight’s turned around in our favour.

“Twelve months ago we put in place that we would like to come back and have a crack at the Caulfield Cup.

“Now we’ve made the field.

“It has been a long plan and fortunately we have got there.”
