Managhar is back in Australia for another attempt to win our rich Cups and starts off in the 2011 $2.5m Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) on Saturday.
The UK trained galloper is the lone horse from the 2010 Caulfield Cup to make it to the Caulfield Cup of 2011.
The experience of last year’s travel has benefitted Managhar’s chances of winning the 2011 Caufield Cup according to his part-owner Simon O’Donnell.

“I think he’s a year older and a year wiser,” O’Donnell said.
“He’s definitely travelled better and got on his tucker. I think he’s a more seasoned horse. Whether that more seasoned side of him creates a winning Caulfield Cup chance, we are going to find out on Saturday afternoon.”
Manighar’s finished fifth to Descarado in last year’s Caulfield Cup after having to change course in the straight.
He would have finished closer than his three length defeat with better luck.
What is playing in his favour this year is the dryer ground.
Five of Mangihar’s wins came on good rated tracks but in three runs in Australia last year he raced on slow and heavy ground.
While his strike rate is good, it was once superb having won six of his first seven starts – the last in October 2009 – he hasn’t won since.
Luca Cumani is a great trainer and has come close to winning the Melbourne Cup twice with Purple Moon and Bauer.
Damien Oliver is the most successful jockey riding in the 2011 Caulfield Cup.
He has won it on four previous occasions and will be out to equal the Caulfield Cup record of his old friend the late Scobie Breasley.
This horse appears over the odds and is a very nice each way bet for the 2011 Caulfield Cup.
