A trio of classy Sydney raiders dominate the 2011 Betfair Stakes nominations, the middle-distance feature one of the 10 exciting races to run at Caulfield Cup Day this Saturday.
There were 21 horses paid up for at nomination stage for this year’s $125,000 Group 3 Betfair Stakes (1400m), with the three top-rated and weighted entries all hailing from across the state line.

Love Conquers All is the top-rated 2011 Betfair Stakes nominee
Number one on the Betfair Stakes 2011 ballot is the Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained Mossman five-year-old Love Conquers All.
The Group 1 placed stallion raced first-up at Rosehill on September 17 winning the Group 2 The Shorts (1200m) before their last-start third to Neeson in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on October 1.
Saturday will be Love Conquers All’s first run in Melbourne since their fourth to the currently sidelined Hay List in the Manikato Stakes last spring.
Equal on 57.5kg for the Betfair Stakes 2011 with Love Conquers All are then the Peter Snowden-trained Pinwheel and Chris Waller’s Albert The Fat.
Lonhro six-year-old Pinhwell was in great form earlier this season but they were found out when 13th behind Toorak Toff in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 24.
With a run a the track and distance now behind them, and a step back in class, Pinwheel is sure to improve for Saturday.
Meanwhile, seven-year-old Albert The Fat will race third-up for the season following their second to Love Conquers All in The Shorts and their fourth in the Premiere Stakes last-start.
Two classy mares that are dually nominated on Caulfield Cup Day are the Matthew Smith-trained Hurtle Myrtle and Andrew Noblet’s Sistine Angel.
Both feature in not only the Betfair Stakes entries, but also in those for the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) where a clash with Gai Waterhouse’s glamour mare More Joyous awaits.
Other notable 2011 Betfair Stakes Nominees include Peter Moody’s last-start Mornington winner Doubtful Jack, consistent Al Maher gelding Budriguez, former Golden Slipper winner Phelan Ready and defending Betfair Stakes winner Rothera.
