Black Caviar Seeks 15th Straight Win In Schweppes Stakes 2011

Black Caviar

Black Caviar's next race will be the Schweppes Stakes 2011

The mighty Black Caviar has continued her faultless career with a win in today’s Schillaci Stakes2011 at Caulfield Racecourse.

The five-year-old mare won the race by an incredibly four and a quarter lengths from Neville Layt’s Karuta Queen and Richard Jolly’s Stirling Grove.

Black Caviar, who paid $1.20 at Luxbet for the win, will now head towards the Group 2 Schweppes Stakes on Cox Plate Day at Moonee Valley in order to pursue her 15th unbeaten career win.

Trainer Peter Moody was overcome with relief after Black Caviar’s most recent win.

“It’s just relief,” Moody said.

“It’s been a build up like no other.

“You just always fear that something will go wrong that’s really the only way they’ll beat her.

“(It’s) just pure relief to have her back in great shape.

“She’s developed into a very imposing horse.

“I think the world may be her oyster.”

The trainer admitting to keeping a lucky $1 coin in his pocket each time Black Caviar had a race start.

“I have a dollar coin in my pocket,” he said.

“I carry that in my pocket every time.”

Moody issued a warning to the horses that plan to take her on in her upcoming Schweppes Stakes 2011 run.

“I don’t think she’s at her best but she’s near enough,” Moody said.

Co-owner Neil Werrett was pleased with his talented mare’s debut spring performance.

“She let done amazing today,” Werrett said.

“I was very nervous going into today’s race but she just performed to her excellence.”

Werrett was quick to downplay any comparison between Black Caviar and Phar Lap following the Schillaci Stakes.

“You shouldn’t compare her to Phar Lap, Phar Lap’s in a league of his own but hopefully she’s a good second,” he said.

Jockey Luke Nolen was happy with how today’s Schillaci Stakes played out.

“She travelled well,” Nolen said.

“Hopefully onwards and upwards to the next one.

“She hasn’t gone backwards I can tell you that much.”

The jockey was quick to say how much of a gift Black Caviar has been for the racing industry.

“It’s been remarkable,” he said.

“She’s got a lot of fresh faces back at the races and she’s creating positive headlines for racing.”
