The final fields and barriers for all of this Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas Day features have now been released including those for the 2011 Toorak Handicap.

2011 Cox Plate-bound mare King's Rose is one of the top chances in Saturday's 2011 Toorak Handicap
Scheduled to run as Caulfield Race 6 at 2:40pm (EDT), the $350,000 Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) has this year drawn 14 acceptances, eight stayers withdrawing since nomination stage.
Coming up trumps with the inside alley in the Toorak Handicap 2011 barrier draw was the Peter Moody-trained King’s Rose.
Formerly trained and raced in New Zealand, four-year-old Redoute’s Choice mare King’s Rose comes into the Toorak Handicap on the back of two Group 2 victories and will be out to keep her flawless Australian race record intact on Saturday.
She has won at Caulfield previously when narrowly holding out Heart Of Dreams in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) back in August and is also undefeated over the mile with two victories from two attempts including her last-start success in the Stocks Stakes at Moonee Valley on September 10.
King’s Rose will also advantage from the drop back from 56.5kg that she has carried at her two previous runs down under to the 54.5kg she is allocated for the Toorak Handicap, making her an excellent horse to back in the Luxbet odds.
The only other last-start winner engaged in the Toorak Handicap field this year is the Rick Hore-Lacy-trained Toorak Toff who comes off a smart victory in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 24.
Both Toorak Toff, who is drawn in barrier five, and King’s Rose are heading towards a start in the $3 million Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 22.
In the latest Cox Plate 2011 odds at Luxbet King’s Rose is paying $26 while Toorak Toff is rated a $41 chance in Australasia’s weight-for-age championship, prices that will firm if either become the Toorak Handicap winner on Saturday.
Toorak Toff will carry 58kg with Chris Symons in the mount and is equal Toorak Handicap top-weight along with King Mufhasa, Stephen Mckee’s in-form New Zealand raider drawing wide in gate 12 of 14.
The shortest-priced of the Toorak Handicap hopefuls in the Cox Plate markets is the Brett Partelle-trained Queensland Guineas winner Torio’s Quest.
The Oratorio four-year-old, who resumed with an eye-catching second to Master Of Design in the Group 2 Sebring Sprint (1300m) at Rosehill on September 10, is currently paying $19 in the Luxbet Cox Plate markets and will jump from gate seven on Saturday for their Melbourne race debut.
Other notable Toorak Handicap 2011 acceptors include the Robert Heathcote-trained Woorim (barrier two), triple Group 1 winning mare Yosei (barrier 11), Gai Waterhouse’s progressive Snippetson gelding Fast Clip and another representative for the Kiwis in Jeff Lynd’s reigning Emirates Stakes winner Wall Street.
