2011 Blazer Stakes Field, Form & Odds

The Blazer Stakes 2011 is one of the top Group features on a crack eight-event programme at Flemington this Sunday, the mares-only race this year attracting a capacity field.

Parables looks hard to beat in the 2011 Blazer Stakes on Sunday at Flemington

Running as Flemington Race 4 at 12:15pm (local time) on Sunday, the $200,000 Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) will be contested by 16 starters with first emergency Sophie’s Spirit set to get a run with the early scratching of #4 Dubleanny.

Of the mares engaged, Parables is the clear $4 favourite in the Blazer Stakes odds at our preferred online bookmaker Luxbet.

Drawn in gate 10, Peter Snowden’s classy Lonhro four-year-old Parables is third-up for the season with two quality runs under her belt.

An ultra consistent mare that hasn’t finished out of the top three in her 11 career starts, Parables was last seen running a close third behind Pinker Pinker in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes over the same track and distance as the Blazer Stakes.

On this weekend 12 months ago, Parables was running at Randwick in the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) where she placed third to Secret Admirer and against a lower class of rivals on Sunday is the deserved favourite.

Following Parables in the Blazer Stakes 2011 betting markets at Luxbet are Anthony Freedman’s in-form Dubawi mare Zubbaya ($7.50) seeking her third win on the trot, the John Sadler-trained Queensland Derby placegetter Heidilicious ($8) drawn well in barrier two and Lady Lynette ($9) who faces a tough test out in barrier 18 and comes off a good third behind King’s Rose in the Stocks Stakes over the Moonee Valley mile.

Other notable Blazer Stakes acceptors include Kiwi raider Smoulder ($14) making her Australian race debut, Elusive Quality five-year-old I’m Discreet ($10) who ran third to Zubbaya last-start and Fatnet Rock mare Zaira ($11).

Below are some 2011 Blazer Stakes Form Facts to aid with your betting this weekend:

  • #3 Parables has a 100% Place Rate
  • #15 Zaira boasts the best Win Rate of the field with 50%
  • #9 Zubbaya is the only last-start winner of the field coming off a 1400m win at Caulfield
  • The only mare to win at the Track & Distance is #12 I’m Discreet (2-1-0-1)
  • With rain around in Melbourne the current Dead (5) Flemington track has every chance of being downgraded to Slow come Sunday and mares with a good Slow Track Record to consider are #2 Keep The Peace (5-2-0-1), #11 Smoulder (4-1-1-1) and #19 Royal Era (9-4-0-3)

Only two horses older than five have won the Blazer Stakes during the past 22 years making Lady Lynette, Moment In Time, Charlie’s Queen, So Prisitine and Royal Era runners to avoid for the Win Bets at Luxbet

So lock in the Races.com.au team’s Blazer Stakes trifecta tip at the best odds, or back your own selections on the race, right now at Luxbet.

The Tabcorp-owned and trusted online bookmaker Luxbet have an amazing $500 Bonus Bet offer open to first-time depositing players who quote the code BONUSBET, but hurry, this is only available through the spring racing carnival!
