After originally attracted 14 nominations, the 2011 Premiere Stakes final field features just seven gallopers with the Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes-trained Love Conquers All installed as the odds-on favourite to win the Epsom Super Saturday sprint.

Scheduled to run as Randwick Race 4 this Saturday, the $200,000 Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) looks to be in the mercy of Mossman five-year-old Love Conquers All after they came up trumps with barrier one.

The multiple Group 1 performer comes off a tidy first-up victory in the Group 2 The Shorts (1200m) where they overcame the outside gate (10) to win.

They rise 2.5kg in the weights from the 56kg they carried to victory in The Shorts, but having had as much as 59kg on their back in competitive elite level features previously, Love Conquers All should have no trouble.

Last time they were at Randwick Love Conquers All finished a game second in the wet to Sacred Choice in the Doncaster Mile, and with four victories from eight starts over 1200 metres, are the deserved Premiere Stakes betting favourite at $1.90 through Luxbet.

Following Love Conquers All in the Premiere Stakes 2011 odds is the horse that ran second to them last-start, Albert The Fat.

The now Chris Waller-trained Magic Albert seven-year-old came within a quarter length of Love Conquers All in The Shorts when making their debut for Waller and if they have come on from them will be right up there in the finish again on Saturday.

Waller’s other Premiere Stakes acceptor, triple Group 1 hero Danleigh follows on the third line of betting at Luxbet at an equal $8 quote along with the David Payne-trained Winter King who comes some imposing form.

One Cool Cat five-year-old Winter King has finished fourth or better in every one of their seven starts since March including their third in The Shorts and also has recent form at Randwick having come within a nose of Rain Affair when second in the Group 3 Missile Stakes at the track and distance on August 6.

The three remaining hopefuls in the race at more generous odds are Joe Pride’s honest galloper Neeson ($10 out to $12), Matthew Smiths’ Dane Shadow mare Hurtle Myrtle ($13 out to $14) racing first-up for the season and undefeated Pins mare Lucha Libre as the $12 outsider of the Premiere Stakes field.

Prepared by Anthony Cummings, Lucha Libre has had just two career starts to date and has won both including her gritty final-stride success over Levi’s Choice in a Listed 1400 metre feature at Randwick on April 16.
