This Friday night Moonee Valley Racecourse will come to life with the highly anticipated Manikato Stakes meet, one of the key races on the programme being the 2011 Bill Stutt Stakes where a number of Caulfield Guineas hopefuls will face off.
The $200,000 Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes (1600m) has this year attracted 16 nominations lead by the Peter Moody-trained Moment Of Change.

Futures all-in betting showing top 24 horses.
Spruik three-year-old Moment Of Change is undefeated to date having won at Murtoa on debut in a blistering speed display that saw them put 10 lengths on their closest rival and come dangerously close to the track record.
They made their metro debut on September 14 at Sandown Lakeside and easily recorded a second emphatic victory this time winning the Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1300m), the same race won by the great Weekend Hussler leading up to their 2007 Caulfield Guineas success, by four lengths.
Moment Of Change’s eye-catching start to their career has seen them rise up the futures betting for the $1 million Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) the gelding sitting as the $6 third favourite behind Helmet ($3.40) and Smart Missile ($3.80) to win the October 8 showdown through Luxbet.
Moody is yet to confirm Moment Of Change for the Caulfield Guineas 2011 field, however, and is solely focused on winning the Bill Stutt Stakes on Friday night at this stage having also nominated his improving Choisir filly Cute Emily.
“He’d have to win (the Bill Stutt) comprehensively for us to even thing about it (the Caulfield Guineas) at this stage,” Moody said of Moment Of Change.
“He’s a nice horse but you’re talking a completely different scenario when you talk about the Guineas.
“It’s his first racing prep and Friday night might end up being his grand final for the spring, so we’re not looking too far ahead at all.”
The other 2011 Caulfield Guineas fancy set to put their Group 1 claims on the line in the Bill Stutt Stakes is Chase The Rainbow.
Sitting as an $11 chance in the Guineas odds at Luxbet, the Rick Hore-Lacy-trained Dash For Cash colt Chase The Rainbow comes off a game second when beaten a nose by Specter in the Listed Henry bucks Best Dressed Handicap (1400m) at Flemington on September 3.
It was an excellent run by the very promising three-year-old after they overcame the extreme outside gate (15) to cross a close second and they are sure to have improvement in them stepping up to the Moonee Valley mile.
Other notable 2011 Bill Stutt Stakes entries include the Michael Moroney-trained Sabrage, a half-brother to last Saturday’s Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes runner-up Pinnacles; last-start Moonee Valley winner Whisper Downs from the stables of David Hayes; Cranbourne galloper That’s The One, undefeated until last Saturday when sixth to Helmet in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude; and the John Thompson-trained duo of Isopach and Win For Wilson.
Racing Victoria will release the Bill Stutt Stakes final field and barriers on Wednesday, and Races.com.au will be first to publish the list of hopefuls followed by a detailed race and betting preview.
