Ingham to Continue Magic in 2011 Reginald Allen Field

Chris Waller’s in-form filly Ingham Magic will seek her third win on the trot at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday when she races in the $100,000 Listed Reginald Allen Handicap (1400m).

Secret Admirer

Secret Admirer placed third in the Reginald Allen last year before winning the Group 1 Flight Stakes on Epsom Super Saturday

Scheduled to take place as Rosehill Race 4 at 2:40pm, the 2011 Reginald Allen Handicap field attracted 10 three-year-old fillies lead by Magic Albert three-year-old Ingham Magic.

As a two-year-old Ingham Magic ran a credible fourth when beaten under two lengths by Satin Shoes in the Listed Widden Stakes (1100m) at Randwick back in February, which to date has been her only black-type start.

Showing excellent form this season having won an 1100 metre fillies maiden at Canterbury by an easy two and a half lengths on August 24 before her gritty last-start win in a 1200 metres feature at Rosehill on September 10, Waller will give Ingham Magic another chance to win a stakes race this weekend.

Twelve months ago another progressive filly ran third in the Reginald Allen Handicap before developing into a Group 1 winner, and Waller is hoping a similar success story is on the cards for Ingham Magic.

That filly was the now four-year-old Dubai mare Secret Admirer from the stables of Grahame Begg.

Secret Admirer finished less than a half-length away third to last year’s Reginald Allen winner M’Lady Pedrille before taking out the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) on Epsom Super Saturday at her next start as a $16 roughie.

This Saturday Secret Admirer is also engaged in a black-type feature, the 2011 Epsom Handicap fancy headlining acceptances for the $175,000 Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m).

Meanwhile, there are two other last-start winners out to challenge Ingham Magic in the Reginald Allen Handicap 2011 with the Anthony Cummings-trained Dane Shadow filly Shadow West and David Hayes’ daughter of Redoute’s Choice Rose Pattern.

Other notable Reginald Allen Handicap hopes include the Peter Snowden-trained Disputes drawn well in barrier three as she looks to improve on her first-up eighth at Newcastle last week, improving Fastnet Rock filly Fast Shanti and Choice Words who has also been accepted to take on Golden Rose winner Manawanui in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) at the same meeting.
