Pane In The Glass Primed For Silver Shadow Stakes Run

Patinack Farm’s racing manager Robyn Hartney is asking for everyone not to judge Pane In The Glass’ recent trial performance as she prepares to resume in the Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm this Saturday.

Pane In The Glass will have her first race this weekend since finishing second to Helmet in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes during the autumn.

The three-year-old filly finished an unimpressive ninth in her most recent barrier trial; however, Hartney believes she will be a different horse in this Saturday’s Silver Shadow Stakes.

“You have to forget about her last trial,” Hartney said.

“(She) was a bit slow away, got back to last and didn’t have anywhere to go.

“(Trainer) John (Thompson) is extremely happy with her and he was happy with her work at Randwick this (Tuesday) morning.”

Pane In The Glass rose to fame early in her two-year-old season after she won both the $250,000 Inglis Nursery and the $250,000 Inglis Classic by a combined margin of nine lengths.

The Testa Rossa filly has not finished outside the first three in all of her seven race starts, despite competing consistently at a Group level.

Pane In The Glass, who has already won more than $500,000 in prize money, will jump from barrier 10 in the 2011 Silver Shadow Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Craig Williams.

The 2011 Silver Shadow Stakes final field will also include John O’Shea’s Elite Falls and David Payne’s Florentina.
