SA Fillies Classic 2011 Field, Form & Betting

The Adelaide autumn racing action steps up this Saturday with a bumper eight-race programme at Morphettville Racecourse home to two Group showdowns including the $115,000 Group 3 SA Fillies Classic (2400m).

The 2011 SA Fillies Classic final field has drawn 12 quality three-year-old fillies including top-rated entry, the David Hayes-trained Precious Lorraine.

The Encosta De Lago filly is coming off a credible fifth place finish to Lights Of Heaven in the Group 1 Schweppes Oaks (2008m) here on March 26.

Stepping back in class should see Precious Lorraine race more competitively on Saturday when she jumps from barrier seven with Paul Gatt in the mount.

Another filly with plenty of claims is Lee Freedman’s last-start winner Giggleswick in barrier six.

The daughter of Elusive Quality won a 2025m race at Cranbourne last start on March 20 and has the ability to continue her form over 2400m on Saturday.

Other notable fillies in this year’s SA Fillies Classic field include Benicio filly Seeking Chi (barrier three) coming off two close second place finishes in Elwick, the Tony Vasil-trained Shezaten (barrier 10), Street Cry filly Lalla Rookh (barrier four) and last-start winner over 2100m at Gawler Pierremont Express (barrier five).

The other feature showdown on the programme is Race 5 – the $115,000 Group 3 SA Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) where a field of top two-year-olds will face off.
