Rosehill Race 2 Results, Tulloch Stakes 2011 on Golden Slipper Day

Fast Clip

Fast Clip is the 2011 Tulloch Stakes winner on Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill

Gai Waterhouse and Nash Rawiller have struck on Golden Slipper day with Fast Clip saluting in the second race of the day, the Tulloch Stakes.

Fast Clip won by an impressive two lengths, beating home I Think I Do and Shootoff with Shadows In The Sun fourth.

Fast Clip returned a dividend of $8.00

Although expected to lead, Fast Clip sat third and fourth in the run and produced a powerful turn of foot to win easily.

“He’s such an exciting horse,” said Waterhouse.

“He’ll probably have a break now and head to Melbourne,” continued Waterhouse.

Fast Clip was ridden to perfection by Nash Rawiller, who came off the back of a slow pace at the top of the straight and was never headed.

“There was a thought that he might be vulnerable at the distance but he proved he can go the trip,” said Rawiller.

“He just relaxed in the run and showed a beautiful turn of foot,” continued Rawiller.

I Think I Do rallied late down the outside to finish second for Bart Cummings and Nick Hall, while Shootoff battled on bravely for third for Chris Munce and Graham Rogerson.

Going into the race the Peter Snowden trained Retrieve was a $1.50, following his impressive second behind Jimmy Choux last start in the Rosehill Guineas.

Retrieve settled midfield in the run, however did not respond under the hard riding of Kerrin McEvoy.

Fast Clip earned $105,000 for its connections, which include Kate Waterhouse, the daughter of trainer Gai.
