Queens Cup Betting and Tips on 2011 Golden Slipper Day

The Group 3 Queens Cup will be run as race 8 on Golden Slipper day, and it shapes as a very even betting race.

The Robert Hickmott trained Base goes into the race favourite after stringing together three wins in a row in Victoria.

Base is a $4.60 favourite and will be ridden by Craig Williams.

Also favoured in the race is the Peter Moody trained Luen Yat Forever.

Luen Yat Forever has not won since arriving in Australia from Macau, however punters have warmed to the horse since he transferred to the powerful Peter Moody yard.

“He’s going super. He arrived before Christmas so I’m still learning about him, but he’s a nice horse and looks super,” said Moody.

Luen Yat Forever will start as a $5.50 second favourite and will be ridden by Luke Nolen.

The Hawkes team and Nick Moraitis will be looking to make amends after having favourite Maluckday fail in the BMW Stakes, have two runners in Vision and Power and Rainbow Styling.

Rainbow Styling has been well supported and had its opening quote slashed from $8.50 to $6.50.

Rainbow Styling has an excellent second up record, having never finished worse than second when second up from a spell.

The Chris Waller trained Syreon has also met support, being backed in from $13.00 to $10.00. Syreon was an impressive third behind Older Than Time last start and will be ridden by Glyn Schofield.

The Queens Cup is a Group 3 race and will be run at 4.50pm (EDST)
