Lights Of Heaven Wins 2011 Australasian Oaks – Race 6 Results At Morphettville

The 2011 Australasian Oaks has been won in stunning style by Peter Moody’s Lights Of Heaven in Race 6 at Morphettville today March 26, 2011.

Lights Of Heaven now remains unbeaten across four starts and has two Group races in her young career.

The race began very slowly, with the leader, Shylight, controlling a slow tempo until Tureen sprinted to the lead and set up a strong pace for the field to follow.

The race was all but over when Luke Nolen asked Lights Of Heaven to go at the home turn and she never once looked in danger as she stormed down the home straight.

Absolutely finished behind the winner in second place and Southern Speed put in a gallant run for third.

Lights Of Heaven began as favourite for the 2011 Australasian Oaks, paying odds of $2.40 to win at Luxbet.
