On a night that will witness Black Caviar’s endeavour to claim her 11th unbeaten victory in the Group1 William Reid Stakes, the question that everyone wants answered is whether any of the field are capable of beating Australia’s queen of racing.
Black Caviar will take to the track at 9.45pm (AEDST) in Race 7 at Moonee Valley in an attempt to prove she is even further above the rest of Australia’s horse racing talent.
While some still cling to the hope that she can be beaten, trainer Mick Price believes she is a class above the rest.
“Nothing in this country will beat her,” Price said.
Mick Price’s True Persuasion will face up against Black Caviar in tonight’s William Reid Stakes and Price is resigned to his horse finishing second at best.
“His (form) is fully exposed and he has been unable to go any better that what he has gone,” Price said.
However Simon Zahra, who with Matthew Ellerton trains last year’s Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily, believes that his filly has the goods to upset Black Caviar in the William Reid Stakes.
“We are not running scared of her (Black Caviar),” Zahra said.
“We are all probably running for second again but you never know, (Black Caviar) might find trouble around the Valley.”
