2011 Australasian Oaks – Betting & Odds Update

The 2011 Australasian Oaks betting arena is heating up, with favouritism for the race that will run at Morphettville Racecourse this Saturday March 26, 2011, being contended for by competitors Lights Of Heaven and Southern Speed.

Southern Speed is currently the favourite for the $350,000 Australasian Oaks, paying odds of $2.70 at Luxbet.

The Southern Image filly originally opened in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks betting markets at $2.50, but has lengthened in odds slightly since at Luxbet.

Southern Speed finished second by a nose last start in the Group 3 Schweppervescence Stakes on March 14, 2011.

The three-year-old filly has won three of her five starts and has only failed to finish in the placings on one occasion.

Present second favourite is Peter Moody’s Lights Of Heaven.

Lights Of Heaven has firmed into odds of $2.90 after opening in the 2011 Australasian Oaks betting at $3.20 originally.

Punters have shown their confidence in the Zabeel filly, who has won all of her previous three races, including the Group 2 Fillies Classic at Moonee Valley on March 4, 2011.

Lights of Heaven has also been the biggest market mover in the 2011 Australasian Oaks betting.

Tureen is currently the least back runner in the 2011 Australasian Oaks field, paying $301 for the win at Luxbet.

The Keep The Faith filly has won only one of her 17 runs and most recently finished last in the Group 3 Schweppervescence Stakes last start.
