2011 Ajax Stakes Race Tips & Betting Form – Rosehill Race 5

Brazilian Pulse

If she runs Brazilian Pulse is the Races.com.au favourite to win the Ajax Stakes

The $175,000 Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) is scheduled to take place at Rosehill Racecourse this Saturday as part of the elite action of Rosehill Guineas Day and here the Races.com.au crew have the best 2011 Ajax Stakes race tips and betting form.

Race 5 on the Rosehill card for Saturday, the 2011 Ajax Stakes is set to jump at 2:50pm (AEDST) and features 11 quality gallopers.

Early favourite in the Ajax Stakes odds at our preferred online bookmaker Luxbet is #9 Pureness at a quote of $3 to win.

Gai Waterhouse’s Tale Of The Cat four-year-old Pureness is racing third-up for the season having finished third at both their starts this prep including their game run behind Triple Elegance in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Warwick Farm last start.

Pureness has a favourable barrier four draw in the Ajax Stakes, will be ridden by in-form hoop Glen Boss and is also ideally weighted set to carry just 52kg.

She is especially good in the wet so if there’s rain around odds on Pureness to win are sure to firm.

However, there is one runner that can outclass the favourite here and that is Brazilian Pulse.

A Group 1 winner having won the Crown Oaks last spring, Michael Moroney’s Brazilian Pulse is paying $5.50 in the Ajax Stakes markets at Luxbet having drawn the far outside barrier 11.

Brazilian Pulse is also accepted for the Keith F Nolan Classic at Rosehill on Saturday however, so is not a certain starter for the Ajax.

If she runs in the Ajax Brazilian Pulse will beat home Pureness and at her current price represents excellent value.

Best Place / Exotic Bets: #9 Pureness, #8 Altered Boy and #1 Snow Alert

If Brazilian Pulse is scratched from the Ajax Stakes field on Saturday Pureness becomes our pick to win.

For the other placings and exotic bets on Rosehill Race 5 we fancy stablemates Altered Boy and Snow Alert.

The Chris Waller-trained Altered Boy has drawn beautifully in barrier three, the Danehill Dancer five-year-old set to improve from their last start fifth in the Group 3 Newcastle Newmarket Handicap (1400m).

At Rosehill over the 1500m Altered Boy enjoyed a win last July and has the grit to race competitively again on Saturday, especially if the track is rated Slow.

Snow Alert resumes after having pulled up lame when sixth first-up in a Listed 2000m at Randwick on New Years’ Day, the Red Ransom gelding reportedly back in form having run fourth in a recent trial.
