Keith F Nolan Classic 2011 Final Field & Preview – Rosehill Guineas Day Race 3

Brazilian Pulse

Brazilian Pulse is the top acceptor for the Keith F Nolan but may contest the Ajax Stakes on Saturday instead

The third race on the Rosehill Guineas Day programme this Saturday March 26 is the $150,000 Group 3 Keith F Nolan Classic (1800m), the three-year-old fillies’ feature due to jump at 3:30pm (AEDST).

The 2011 Keith F Nolan Classic final field currently features 14 entrants lead by classy Group 1 winning filly Brazilian Pulse.

Last spring the Michael Moroney-trained Brazilian Pulse won the Crown Oaks before returning to the track this year with a first-up second to Do Ra Mi in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on March 5.

Moroney has also accepted Brazilian Pulse for the $175,000 Group 2 Ajax Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill with a decision on which race she will tackle second-up pending.

For the Keith F Nolan Classic Brazilian Pulse is the 58kg top-weight meaning she meets her rivals four kilos worse in the weights, but she had drawn ideally with barrier five.

In the Ajax Brazilian Pulse has a more advantageous weight with just 56.5kg, but she has drawn the far outside barrier in the 11-horse field and would face open and older company.

Other noteworthy Keith F Nolan Stakes acceptors include Bart Cumming’s lightly-raced Shamardal filly Kim Heaven (barrier 14), Kembla Grange runner Lady Lonhro (barrier 12) coming off back-to-back wins at her home track and Canberra Guineas third placegetter Notjustaprettyface (barrier seven).
