Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Elite Falls finally got there over her biggest rival in the Reisling Slipper Trial and now it’s a case of beating the boys in the 2011 Golden Slipper.
It was always going to be a tight race with odds on favouritsm for Satin Shoes ridiculous given the margin in their last meeting combined with the wet Rosehill track.
Still, Elite Falls drifted to more than $3 before doing exactly what many tipped her to do and took full advantage of the extra 100m in the race to pull away in the closing stages.
She won it comfortably in the end to ensure she will be in the top couple of names once the revised Golden Slipper futures markets are released following the odds adjustments.
Before they jumped Elite Falls was paying $17 fixed price to claim the big Group 1.
However after this win and the dramatic loss of Sepoy the 2011 Golden Slipper is fast changing shape to being an extremely even contest.
A matter of hours ago it looked like Sepoy would be the shortest priced Golden Slipper favourite in history, but with the results from Coolmore Classic Day there are now at least four horses worthy of very real consideration.
If you’re not excited about this year’s Golden Slipper prospects as a punter then you never will be, with the ever changing landscape tough for even the experts to keep track of.
