Final Field & Barriers – 2011 Alister Clark Stakes

Three horses have been cut leaving us with a final field of 14 for the 2011 Alister Clark Stakes at Moonee Valley Racecourse this Friday March 18th.

Folding Gear

Folding Gear, the top rated horse in the 2011 Alister Clark Stakes final field, has drawn barrier 8

The comfortably top rated horse is Folding Gear which picked up the middle of the range barrier 8.

All runners will be carrying 57kgs across the 1600m journey on their way to try and claim the Group 2 race worth $200,000.

Folding Gear has earned his position after winning his last two starts including a fantastic win in the Yalumba 162.

The horse beaten to second that race was Elusive King but the consistent horse is more than capable of reversing that result.

With barrier five the Peter Moody runner is assured of being presented in a winning condition and will have every chance with the ride of Luke Nolen.

Gilded Spur was a horse looking for a bit more luck in the Alister Clark Stakes but certainly hasn’t found any early after drawing barrier 14.

The colt does have the versatility to sit at the back or go to the front though so he may be able to cause an upset from out wide.

Later in the week we’ll bring you a complete form guide as well as our expert tips which will hopefully pick you a winner in the 2011 Alister Clark Stakes.
