Nominations for the 2011 Ranvet Stakes have been released that will take place as part of Myer Ladies Day at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday March 19, 2011.
The Group 1 Ranvet Stakes will be contested over 2,000 metres and is worth $400,000.
Open to three-year-olds and upwards, the 2011 Ranvet Stakes will be run under standard weight-for age conditions and has attracted 16 nominations.

Maluckyday has been nominated for the 2011 Ranvet Stakes
Included in the 2011 Ranvet Stakes nominations is last year’s Melbourne Cup runner-up Maluckyday, who will be looking for his sixth win from 11 starts in the race.
Maluckyday finished a respectable fourth last start in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm on March 5, 2011.
The four-year-old gelding will be ridden by jockey Larry Cassidy in this weekend’s Ranvet Stakes, who believes that Maluckyday is the best stayer he’s ridden.
”I was rapt with the run, considering it was first-up over the mile,” Cassidy said of Maluckyday’s performance in the Chipping Norton Stakes.
”I was thrilled with what I saw, thrilled with how he felt when I jumped on board and thrilled with what he did.”
Odds for Maluckyday and betting information for the 2011 Ranvet Stakes will be available at Luxbet closer to Saturday’s race.
Also nominated for the 2011 Ranvet Stakes is Shaune Ritchie’s Keep The Peace, who won the Group 1 Haunui Farm Classic at Otaki in New Zealand on February 26, 2011.
This will be the four-year-old mare’s second attempt at a Sydney race, after failing in her first attempt in the Group 1 AJC Derby in April, 2010.
“After the Derby she had a lot of mucous in her nose and she obviously had something wrong which surfaced when she raced,” trainer Shaune Ritche said.
Her trainer is confident that Keep The Peace is up to the standard of the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes, and is hoping for a good run ahead of the 2011 BMW on April 2, 2011, for which she is also nominated.
“She’s being trained for 2000 metres, she’s been well looked after, her races have been spaced and she’s always been in top company,” Ritchie said.
“I think she’s ready.”
The winner of the past two Ranvet Stakes, Theseo, will not be back to defend his title for the third consecutive year with trainer Gai Waterhouse not feeling that he is ready to run 2,000 metres second-up this preparation.
Shocking, who won the Australian Cup last Saturday, will also not be contesting the Ranvet Stakes, after pulling up “scratchy” after the race.
Shocking felt the effects of the firm track at Flemington on Saturday and will now be restricted to the swimming pool for the remainder of the week.
‘He’ll spend the next few days in the pool and we’ll assess him later in the week,” Kavanagh said.
Zipping has recovered well so far from an injury to his off-hind leg and is now a chance to compete in the 2011 Ranvet Stakes.
“He’s entered this week just in case the bruising which kept him out of the Australian Cup subsides in time,” trainer Lloyd Williams said.
“I’d say there’s only a 30 per cent chance he’ll run this week.”
