Warpath wins Warwick Farm Race 7 – Turnpoint Guineas Day Results

Warpath

The 2011 Listed Lean & Hayward Aspiration Quality has been won by John O’Shea’s Warpath on Turnpoint Randwick Guineas Day at Warwick Farm.

The 2011 Listed Lean & Hayward Aspiration Quality was a $100,000 race for fillies and mares open to horses aged three-years-old and upwards.

The field found it difficult to settle into their early positions, with five caught together across the track until Small Minds pressed on and took the early lead.

Warpath, who was the best supported in the field, paying $3.40 at Luxbet, shot away from her competitors at the home turn and stormed to a fantastic victory.

The four-year-old mare was given no favours during the race and was caught three-wide for the entire trip and still came home for a brilliant win.

Warpath finished two and a half lengths ahead of Miss Keepsake, who also had no luck, and was shuffled back through the field during her run.

The Joseph Pride-trained Miss Keepsake managed to hold on for second down the inside and Shadow Minister finished in third.

John O’Shea will now look for another Listed race in a fortnight’s time in Sydney for Warpath to tackle next.

Warpath has now won four races in a row and has won seven of her 12 runs in total.
