Uate (middle) wins by a nose from Brazilian Pulse (inside) and Flight Of Pegasus (outside)
The first Group race of the day has been won by Uate in the 2011 Skyline Stakes in Race 3 at Warwick Farm.
The Group 3 Skyline Stakes was run over 1,200 metres and was open to two-year-old colts and geldings only.
Worth $125,000, the 2011 Skyline Stakes featured a nine horse field all carrying a set 55.5 kilograms in weights.
The race began when Irish Times missed the start and Alkie stormed to an early lead.
Favourite Hot Snitzel sat second behind Alkie in a prime position until he made his move at the home turn and surged to the lead.
Uate began his run down the final straight on Hot Snitzel’s outside and made a lunge on the line to win the race by a whisker in a photo finish.
Hot Snitzel was the $2.90 favourite to win the 2011 Skyline Stakes, while Uate paid odds of $4.20 at Luxbet.
Flight Of Pegasus put in a good run to finish third and Diamond To Pegasus finished a respectable fourth.
