The Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes was a 1,200 metre race for two-year-old fillies and was worth a tidy $125,000 in prize money.
Pane In The Glass began as favourite at Luxbet, paying odds of $3.60 for the win.
Shared Reflections began the 2011 Sweet Embrace Stakes by jumping badly from the gates and was forced to settle around midfield.
However, the Umatilla filly took it all in her stride, storming down the middle of the home straight to claim her first Group victory of her short career.
Streama ran a very impressive race to hold on for second, while favourite Pane In The Glass had absolutely no luck throughout the race and finished off the placings in third.
Shared Reflections was well backed by the punters and paid odds of $3.90 for the win at Luxbet.
The filly’s trainer, Gai Waterhouse, was thrilled she chose to race her classy filly in the 2011 Sweet Embrace Stakes, after nearly opting not to run Shared Reflections after she performed poorly on her Tuesday morning gallop.
Gai Waterhouse implied after the race that Shared Reflections would now contend the Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens on April 2, 2011.
The trainer made it clear that she felt the two horses to beat were Sepoy and Satin Shoes, making no mention of Queensland threat Karuta Queen.
