Schweppervescence Trophy 2011 Betting Tips & Odds – Flemington Super Saturday

The final Group status event on the 2011 Flemington Super Saturday of Racing programme tomorrow March 12, will be the $150,000 Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) and here we have the exclusive Flemington Race 8 betting tips and the latest odds.

Race time for the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy, previously registered as the Matron Stakes, is set as 4:05pm (AEDST) on Saturday and the fillies and mares feature has attracted a final field of 12.

Current favourite in the Schweppervescence Trophy betting odds at Luxbet is the Greg Eurell-trained Pinker Pinker.

Pinker Pinker

Pinker Pinker has drawn barrier 1 for the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy

Coming up trumps with barrier one for Saturday’s showdown, in-form Reset filly Pinker Pinker is coming off an impressive victory in the Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 26.

Third-up for the season will suit this improving runner and with the form, draw and 55.5kg weight it is easy to see why she is the favourite to become the 2011 Schweppervescence Trophy winner.

2011 Schweppervescence Trophy Tips  – Flemington Race 8 Betting

  • Flemington Race 8 Winner: #6 Pinker Pinker – Rated Special to Win back now at Luxbet

Hard to go past for the win, her $4.20 price at Luxbet is still generous and now is the time to back her before odds firm. Superstar in the making, watch out for her during the spring.

  • Runner-Up: #1 Culminate – $6 chance at Luxbet

Ballarat-trained seven-year-old resumed for the season with a solid sixth in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) on Blue Diamond Day but always shows great improvement second time in. Has good barrier five draw and is a Group 2 winner last spring, don’t discount.

  • Third Placegetter: #7 Gail – $7.50 chance at Luxbet

Perfectly weighted with just 54kg here, a nice drop from the 56kg this Bianconi four-year-old carried to victory over the mile at Moonee Valley last start on February 25, before which she won a 1620m at Flemington in January. Has Nicholas Hall in the mount again and will be competitive but just looks that little bit out of her depth for a win.

  • First Four / Box Trifecta Inclusion: #2 Lady Lynette – $6 chance at Luxbet

Last-start stakes winner in her home state of Tassie, this honest six-year-old is seeking her third straight win for the season but Flemington record suggests fourth is the best she can do here. The firmer the track more her chances of an upset improve.
